The museum, located directly on the Esplanade, used to be a well-known hotel - the Austria and that's where our story begins.

Hotel Austria - Museum of the City of Bad Ischl: Tue - Sun 10.00 - 17.00 (Nov - Dec), Wed - Sun 10.00 - 17.00 (Jan - Mar), guided tours Tue - Fri at 14.00
Lehárvilla: DO & FR 10.00 - 17.00 (Nov - Mar), on Advent Sundays 13.00 - 17.00 (first regular guided tour from 13.00, preceded by a musical matinée)
Special opening hours during Advent: Hotel Austria open on 24.12.25 & 31.12.25 from 10.00 to 15.00. The museums will be closed on 8.12.25, 25.12.25, 26.12.25 & 1.1.26.

The museums of Bad Ischl also offer visitors a varied program during the Advent season.
Once again this year, the nativity scene exhibition can be seen in the Hotel Austria in cooperation with the Ischl Heimatverein. In addition, musical matinées will be held in the Lehár Villa for the first time on the four Sundays in Advent and Franz Lehár's villa will also open its doors to visitors for the first time on Thursdays and Fridays from November to March. Finally, on December 27, Ralph Petruschka invites you to the Poetic Salon at the Hotel Austria.
