Music by candlelight

An evening full of magic

On Monday, 8 December 2025, the factory hall of the Kitzmantelfabrik will once again be transformed into a unique concert venue for the second edition of “Music by Candlelight”.

This time, the audience can look forward to well-known Disney melodies and other musical highlights presented by the Streichensemble+. The versatile ensemble of music school teachers and dedicated musicians from the region, under the musical direction of Monika Altmanninger, combines the warm sound of strings with sonorous additions including percussion, flute, harmonica and vocals. Julia Schobesberger provides particularly emotional moments with her singing, bringing familiar melodies to life in a unique way.

The entire hall will once again be bathed in the warm glow of hundreds of candles – an atmosphere that enchants and gives you goosebumps.

By train:
From Wels station to Lambach station, with the Vorchdorferbahn (line 160) or from Gmunden with the Traunseetram (line 161) from Stern & Hafferl Bahnen to Vorchdorf Eggenberg.

Numerous connections from Wels station to the main trains on the Westbahn line (line 101) to Linz/Vienna or Salzburg or to Passau (line 150). Or via Gmunden to the Salzkammergutbahn (line 170) towards Bad Ischl, Hallstatt and Bad Aussee.

The Vorchdorf Regional Museum in the Kitzmantelfabrik is located in the immediate vicinity of the station.

By bus:
OÖVV bus lines 481 from Kirchdorf to Vorchdorf or 501 from Wels to Vorchdorf, Vorchdorf station stop

Take the Salzkammergut Shuttle Service Route 70 from Scharnstein station via Pettenbach to the Vorchdorf station stop or from Almspitz on Route 80. Call the taxi centre at least 1 hour in advance on +43 50-422 422 to book.

Arriving by bicycle:
From Wels or Linz, take the R 4 Traun Cycle Path or R6 Roman Cycle Path, or from Gmunden, take the R 4 Traun Cycle Path, or from Passau via Vöcklabruck and Schwanenstadt on the R 6 Roman Cycle Path to Lambach, via the Traunkraftwerk Lambach power station and then via Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting to Vorchdorf.

You can also take the R 11 Almtal Cycle Path from Almsee via Pettenbach, briefly on the R 13 Traunviertel Cycle Path to Einsiedlung and then to Vorchdorf.

From Gmunden via Gschwandt to Kirchham, from Laakirchen on the R 13 Traunviertler Cycle Path to Kirchham, then along the Traunsee tram towards Vorchdorf.

The museum is located almost directly on Bahnhofstraße.

By car:
A1 motorway: Vienna – Voralpenkreuz-A1 junction – A1 Vorchdorf exit
A1 motorway: Munich – Salzburg – A1 Vorchdorf exit
A8 motorway Passau – Wels – Voralpenkreuz A1 – A1 Vorchdorf exit

From the centre of Vorchdorf, follow Bahnhofstraße to the Kitzmantelfabrik car park.
