UAS – UpperAustrianSinfonietta

Works by Johann Strauss Sohn, Josef Strauss, Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Edvard Grieg

Following the 200th birthday of Anton Bruckner, which the UAS-UpperAustrianSinfonietta celebrated in 2024 with his rarely performed F minor Symphony, WAB 99, the so-called ‘Study Symphony’, in 2025 it will celebrate the musical ruler of the year, Johann Strauss Sohn.

While the first part features the jubilarian and his operetta overture to ‘A Night in Venice’ as well as other composers of the ‘concert march and waltz’ genre, the second part offers a cross-section of the waltz king's popular oeuvre.

Let yourself be enchanted by the well-known melodies, the rousing rhythms and the lively sounds from the pen of Johann Strauss Sohn and his brother Josef Strauss! The UAS-UpperAustrianSinfonietta, a youth orchestra of the Oö. Landesmusikschulwerk, will delight you under the direction of Peter Aigner.
