Visual Arts / Exhibition

Exhibition Duration: June 29 to July 19, 2025

Summer freshness has a long tradition in Gmunden. The exhibition format of the Art University Linz, "BestOFF Sommerfrische", takes place this year for the fifth time in collaboration with the Salzkammergut Festival Weeks Gmunden.

In keeping with the original impulse of the cooperation between the Salzkammergut Festival Weeks Gmunden and the Art University Linz, the utilization of vacant spaces in the central area of Gmunden is the focus. Art has the ability to conquer both spaces and spatial narratives and to install thematic issues in an accessible way. This year, a fresh, contemporary breeze is blowing here: Students and graduates of the Art University Linz will showcase their works in both vacant and public spaces.

The artists themselves will also animate the city and will be available for discussions during the exhibition. Curatorial/artistic tours will provide insights into the art and cultural scene. Opening dialogue spaces through art in rural areas and increasingly translating art and cultural work from the city to the countryside is the jointly declared program and goal of this well-established format.
